Over-seed & Liquid Aerate Care Sheet
Today we applied liquid aeration and/or over seeded your turf, in order to see the best results please follow the recommendations below!!!
Watering:
After overseeding your lawn, the seeds require moisture for germination. For the initial day of watering the newly seeded area, we advise at least 1-2 hours of watering time. Following this initial period, maintain soil moisture (but avoid excessive wetness) by lightly sprinkling two or three times a day during the germination phase. When the grass begins to sprout, you can reduce the amount of water applied. Transition to watering less frequently but for a longer duration, about one hour every other day. Be cautious not to saturate the soil excessively as this can promote root rot diseases. As the grass matures, allow the soil to dry out slightly before your next watering. The primary risk to seedlings is overwatering, which can lead to diseases like root rot, while underwatering can dry out delicate roots. Additionally, extreme heat can harm tender roots if the soil becomes too dry.
Roots will seek moisture as the roots grow deeper, and the watering interval will become longer. It may take two years to establish a six-inch root.
Mowing:
Delay mowing your grass after overseeding for as long as possible to let the seeds settle into the soil. A minimum of 7 days is recommended, but ideally, wait 10 to 12 days. For the first mowing after overseeding, set your mower to its highest setting. Gradually reduce the mowing height over the next few weeks back to the normal level.
